MCATX is Miller CAT's Federal/EPA line of aftermarket catalytic
converters. Made in the USA with OEM washcoat technology, MCATX is
optimized for the EPA market to deliver quality, durable catalytic
converters.
This warranty is issued to the distributor of record (or to Miller CAT
directly, where the converter was purchased directly from Miller CAT) for
MCATX Federal aftermarket catalytic converters purchased through an
authorized channel and installed by a licensed repair facility.
WHAT IS COVERED
Replacement of the MCATX Federal catalytic converter itself, subject to the
terms below. This warranty does not cover installation labor, diagnostic
fees, towing, rental vehicles, or any other incidental or consequential
costs.
COVERAGE PERIODS
1. Emission Performance Warranty
This converter is warranted to meet applicable EPA emission performance
requirements for 25,000 miles from the date of installation, provided
the vehicle is properly maintained and operated.
2. Parts Warranty
The converter shell, substrate, and end pipes are warranted to be free
from defects in materials and workmanship for five (5) years or 50,000
miles from the date of installation, whichever occurs first.
CONDITIONS
This warranty applies only when:
- The converter was installed in the same location, and is the same type,
as the converter it replaced
- The installation was registered at the time of install, including
vehicle, shop, and purchase documentation
- The converter was professionally installed by a licensed repair facility
- The vehicle has been properly maintained per the manufacturer's
recommended service schedule
WHAT IS NOT COVERED
This warranty does not apply to, and Miller CAT is not liable for, failures
or damage resulting from:
- Failure to properly maintain the vehicle
- Vehicle or exhaust system modifications, including aftermarket exhaust
components, deleted or modified sensors, or performance tuning
- Installation by a non-professional or unlicensed installer
- Contamination of the converter from an unrelated engine condition
(e.g. oil, coolant, or unburned fuel entering the exhaust system due to
worn piston rings, a failed head gasket, misfire, or similar)
- Incorrect application or fitment for the vehicle
- Physical damage from impact, road debris, collision, or environmental
corrosion
- Theft of the converter itself (theft may qualify as a reason for the
original replacement installation, but a stolen unit is not a warranty
claim)
- Use or installation outside the United States, or use in California,
where this Federal-spec converter is not legal for sale, installation,
or use
- The registered converter being resold or the vehicle changing ownership
(this warranty is non-transferable)
HOW TO FILE A WARRANTY CLAIM
If the registered converter itself fails within the coverage period, the
installing shop must submit a claim within 30 days of the failure being
diagnosed, including:
- Your original registration confirmation number
- The vehicle VIN (must match the original registration)
- Date and mileage at diagnosis of the failure
- Photos of the failed converter, including the visible part tag/serial
number
- A photo of the odometer at time of removal
- Diagnostic documentation (e.g. scan tool report/code) supporting the
failure diagnosis
- If the failure may be related to an engine condition: documentation of
any prior repair work performed on the vehicle before the converter
failed (not required for theft claims)
- For theft claims: a police report number in place of the above repair
documentation
The failed converter must be retained and made available for inspection
upon request. Claims are reviewed and administered through your Miller CAT
distributor, or directly by Miller CAT for direct-purchase accounts.
